Consolidated MARPOL I-VI (MARPOL)

Scope

This Consolidated MARPOL Annex I-VI course covers the mandatory competences and the required knowledge, understanding and proficiencies prescribed in Table A-II/1, II/2, II/3, III/1, III/2, III/3 of the STCW Code.

This requires a total of twenty four (24) instructional hours to cover the topics enumerated in Part B – Course Outline.

Training Outcomes

To meet the minimum standard of competence for all seafarers assigned to shipboard duties as required in Table A-II/1, II/2, II/3, III/1, III/2, III/3 of the STCW Code as amended, this course in designed to enable the trainees  to successfully demonstrate the competences on Consolidated MARPOL Annex I-V1.

Specifically, at the end of the course, the trainee must:  
  • prevent oil pollution from ships
  • control pollution from noxious liquid substances in bulk
  • prevent pollution from harmful substances carried by sea in package form
  • prevent sewage pollution from ships
  • prevent garbage pollution from ships
  • prevent air pollution from ships
